GENERAL RULES

There are four basic hands to complete the game.

A. Pong, Kong, or Pong and Kong Sets

The hand is completed with only pongs, kongs, or combined. The pong, kong or pong and kong sets may be either crack, bamboo, circle, wind or dragon or combined.

B. Sequence Sets

The hand is completed with only sequence (straight) sets. The sequence sets may not be limited to one kind, but must exclude the wind or dragon set or pair.

1, 2-3-4, 2-3-4)

C. Sequence and Pong and/or Kong Sets

The hand is completed with a combination of sequence set(s) of crack, bamboo and/or circle and pong and/or kong sets of any kind.

(1, 7-8-9, 8-8-8
1, 2-3-4, 9-9-9)

OR

(Red, 6-7-8, 1-2-3
Red, E-E-E, Green-Green-Green)

D. Flush Hands

Flush hands may be completed either with crack, bamboo, or circle. Both sets and the pair in a flush hand must belong to the same kind. A flush hand may consist of sequence sets, pong and/or kong sets, or combined. Examples are:

1. A crack flush hand

(1-2-3, 2-3-4, 5-
6-7, 6-7-8, 7-7)

2. A bamboo flush hand

(5-5-5, 8-8-8, 1-
1-1, 6-6-6, 9-9)

3. A circle flush hand

(2-3-4, 3-4-5, 1-
1-1, 9-9-9, 7-7)
