VII
THE USE OF EXTRA TILES
If extra season and plant tiles are used, they are mixed with other tiles. The four sides of the wall should have eighteen piles, instead of seventeen piles, each. Season and plant tiles correspond to wind tiles.
Winds Seasons Plants
East =
Spring = OrchidReaders are already familiar with the round wind and the seat wind. Similarly, there are the round season, the seat season, the round plant and the seat plant. For instance, in the North wind round, the Spring tile and the Plum tile are the seat season and the round plant respectively to the East player.
After the four players have drawn all tiles, but before discarding any, players who have season or/and plant tile(s) should expose them to their left and take equal number of tile(s) from the end of the north wall. If more than one player has season and/or plant tile(s), drawing supplementary tile(s) is by rotation from East to North.
During the game, the player who draws the season or plant tile must expose it to his left and take a supplementary tile from the end of the wall. If the supplementary tile happens to be a season or plant tile, the player exposes it again and takes another supplementary tile.
