The 14th annual Washington Seminar on U.S.-China Relations will be held at Washington Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C. , May 2-3. This year's central theme is "The Shanghai Communique: 30 Years Later". The two-day seminar consists of lectures, dinner, State Department briefing on U.S. policy related to China, and closing reception at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China. The seminar, sponsored by US-China Peoples Friendship Association, aims at providing a forum to consider issues relevant to relations between the United States and China through interaction with experts at the leading edge of U.S.-China relations. The US-China Peoples Friendship Association was founded in 1974. It is dedicated to developing and maintaining ties of friendship and mutual understanding between the people of China and the United States.
