The Silk Road Ensemble is intended to explore the rich cultural traditions of the Silk Road, the historic trade route that connected the peoples and traditions of Asia with those of Europe, with cellist Yo-Yo Ma and an ensemble of multicultural musicians in an exciting program that intermingles Western classical music, non-Western classical music, as well as folk and popular music.
