Refrigerators by Judy Soo, a Lodestone's theater production, runs April 5-28 at the East Los Angeles College auditorium. Founded in 1999, Lodestone, a Los Angeles's newest Asian Pacific American theater company, is intended to develop, create, promote and present edgy, compelling and unpassioned works that bridge communities through truthful and entertaining artistry. It began as a reaction to the race riots that razed Los Angeles's Korea town on April 29, 1991. Oh -- with the assistance of Chung, who was fresh out of college -- formed the Society of Heritage Performers (SHP) to offer non-stereotypical, non-traditional theater productions.
