Chicago's Chinatown has became the hottest place for Chinese Americans, wrote Kerrie Kennedy in the Chicago Tribune January 20. There are strong signs of revitalization in Chinatown. The Chinese American Service League will break ground on a $9.15 million community service center and construction will begin on 22 single-family homes priced up to $500,000. According to See Wong of Richland Realty, the Santa Fe Garden Project located behind China Square and near the new 12-acre Ping Tom Memorial Park provides 400 units of housing -- condos, town homes and houses. The Project's phase four will add 60 more town homes as well as 22 houses. Bernie Wong, executive director of the Chinese American Service League, pointed out "There's definitely more vitality in Chinatown today than there was even a few years ago. A lot more professionals have come back to live here."
