Wen Ho Lee's book published

My Country Versus Me: The First-Hand Account by the Los Alamos Scientist Who Was Falsely Accused, by Wen Ho Lee and Helen Zia was published by Hyperion. The book narrates his ordeal and sufferings as falsely accused of being a spy for China. After 278 days of solitary confinement without benefit of a trial, on September 13, 2000, he was finally set free. Judge James Parker, the federal judge who presided over his case said in his deep and authoritative voice, with America as his audience: "I have been misled by our govenrment." Wrote Lee, "as I sat in jail, I had to conclude that no matter how hard you work, an Asian person like me will never be accepted. We will always be foreigners."
