Hundreds of Chinese immigrants go to Atlantic City casinos every day to enjoy free meals and fun. It is the practice of casinos to give away money to generate money. Casinos in Atlantic City give vouchers of $20 to attract people to gamble. Many used the opportunity to have free ride to and from Atlantic City, free meals, and some money to gamble. In an article, "Casinos' lowest rollers: thrifty immigrants," Susan Sachs tells Chinese immigrants' fun in the casinos and the casinos don't make much money by giving money away (The New York Times, July 21). People use the vouchers of worth $20 each, subtracted $11 from it to pay a round-trip bus ticket and pocketed $9.00. They have fun whole day in the casinos. Reported Susan Sachs, bus customers up to 25 percent of the visitors to Atlantic City casinos each year; accounted for just 15 percent of the casinos' revenue. They are not a profitable segment of the market. So the trend now in the industry is to cut back on incentives to bus customer in favor of "comps" of free rooms or chips to gamblers who are known to be big spenders. Since the introduction of "comps", the number of gamblers arriving by bus have been shrinking. The number of visitors from bus was down to 8 million last year from 10 million previous years. People who used vouchers but not spent money to gamble are not welcome. Chinese gamblers rated The Taj the most friendly, and Bally's the least.
