On June 1, The Chinese American Librarians Association Mid-West Chapter held its annual conference at the University of Illinois at Chicago. About forty people have participated this one-day program. Dr. Hwa-wei Lee, key-note speaker, Dean Emeritus, Ohio University Libraries and three other panelists, Sandra Balderrama, Director of ALA Diversity Office, Haipeng Li from Ohio Oberlin College and Jun-lin Pan from Northern Illinois University, have given speeches with topics on knowledge management, diversity, building a bridge with the outside world and promoting Chinese materials to Chinese users. The four interest groups in the afternoon provided information on CJK/OCLC, international exchange, CORC, and e-skills led by four specialists: Shuh-Jiuan Chen, Shuyong Jiang, Xudong Jin, and Li Fu.
