James Hsiung will speak at the University of Indianapolis


The 2002-2003 Lecture Series, Asian Programs, University of Indianapolis will be given on April 5. The Asian Programs is jointly sponsored by Lecture/Performance committee, University of Indianapolis, International Relations Graduate Program, University of Indianapolis, Indianapolis International Center, Asian American Alliance Inc., and The Center on Southeast Asia, IUPUI Dr. James Hsiung of New York University will be the keynote speaker on the topic, "Asia in transition in the 21st century." Dr. Hsiung (see also his biography)

is the author and editor of 17 books, not counting his numerous articles and book chapters. His most recent books are: Asia Pacific in the New World Politics (1993), Anarchy and Order: The Interplay of Politics and Law in International Relations (1997), and Hong Kong the Super Paradox (2000). A former executive editor of the Washington-based learned journal Asian Affairs, he holds the title of Honorary or Visiting Professor at several universities in China proper and Lingnan University in Hong Kong. He is also a former advisor or consultant to several Asian governments, including the Singaporean Ministry of Education.
