The semi-annual conference of the Chinese American Professionals Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. will be held on June 8 at the Building 1 auditorium, University of Maryland, Grove Center. The one day conference features speeches by Dr. Benjamin H. Wu, Deputy Undersecretary for Technology, U.S. Department of Commerce on the Bush administration high-tech policy and emerging technology trends for the 21st century; Dr. Joseph Chi-Hang Yang, Department of International Programs, National Science Council (Taiwan) on an overview of NSC's International Programs; Ms. Min Chen of Food and Drug Administration on safety issues in drug use; and Dr. Shaw Chen, also of Food and Drug Administration, on efficacy of Chinese drug.
