China Institute offers a series of lectures


China Institute in America offers a series of lectures on "Powerful Women in Chinese History": Empress Wu Zetian by Robert Harrist on October 22; Empress Dowager Cixi by Joanna Waley-Cohen on October 24, and Jiang Qing by Roxane Witke on October 29; "The Good Women of China: Hidden Voices" by Xinran on October 28; "Changing of the Guard: Challenges Facing the Next Leadership Generation" with James F. Hoge, Jr, Editor of Foreign Affairs on October 7; and "State Enterprise Reform and the Rise of the Chinese Multinational" (co-hosted by Chinese Finance Society) by Sean M. Dougherty on October 17.

China Institute in America, founded in 1926 is a nonprofit educational and cultural institution. It promotes the understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of traditional and contemporary Chinese civilization, culture and heritage and provides the cultural and historical context for understanding contemporary China.
