Columbia College Center for Asian Arts and Media in Chicago will hold its annual benefit gala on November 19 featuring David Henry Hwang's performance in the afternoon. Tony Award winning playwright/librettist David Henry Hwang refers to his sources and inspirations as he discusses his work, including Broadway landmark M Butterfly, his most recent play, The Golden Child, his libretto for Philip Glass's 1000 Airplanes on the Rood, and his new book for the Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song. This event features musical excerpts from Hwang's work.
