The Fifth symposium of Chinese-American Beckman Frontiers of Science will be held on October 1113, 2002 in Irvine, California. Its program consists of the following topics: Applied Genomics/Bioinformatics/Mathematical Tools for Complex Systems; Cell Signaling; Chemical Sensing; Galaxy Evolution; Gas Hydrates; Neurodegenerative Disease' Number Theory; and String Theory. The Symposium is jointly sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and U.S. National Academy of Science, and supported, in part, with the funding from the Beckman Foundation, and the Agouron Institute.
