The Committee of 100's 12th annual conference will be held on April 24-26 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. This year's meeting features "Economic Futures of China and the U.S" by Jeffrey D. Sacks, Director of The Earth Institute at Columbia University; "Financial Market Development in China" by Laura Cha, Vice-Chair of the China Securities Regulatory Commission; "Succeeding in the China Market," a panel of major consumer products company executives; "Exploring Chinese American Identity" by David Henry Hwang, Iris Chang, Frank Wu, and Helen Zia; "AIDS in China" by David Ho, Director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center and Elizabeth Rosenthal, Beijing correspondent for The New York Times; and "Admiral Zheng He, by Jin Wu and Garvin Menzies, author of 1421, a book that contends Zheng He discovered America.
