Bob Xu urges Congress to amend DSHEA amendment on herbal medicine


Dr. Bob Xu initiates a letter to Congress suggesting amendment of the "Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994" and other related issues. He sent a letter to Congress in August 2002 for the best interest of patients, to ensure the public safety, and to protect the integrity of Chinese Medicine. Congress decided to look into the issue of the 1994 DSHEA amendment. In July 2003, the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine National Coalition (AOMNC) endorsed the "Letter to the Congress" which was later revised in August 2003. Dr. Xu is a director of Center for Holistic and Herbal Therapy (CHHT).
