The Association for Preserving Historical Accuracy of Foreign Invasions in China offers awards for essay contest of undergraduates in San Diego County, California, starting this Fall. APHAFIC strives to educate the general public about WWII history in Asia and to raise the awareness of atrocities that took place during that time period, so that such tragedies will not be repeated. The purpose of the contest is to provide opportunities and incentives for students to study and understand WWII history in Asia. Application forms will be available on October 1, 2003. The theme is 'Atrocities during WWII in Asia (1931-1943). The prizes are $500.00, $300.00 and $200.00. All full time undergraduates in accredited colleges are eligible.
