The 47th Annual Gold Coast Art Fair was held August 8-10 2003, in Chicago. Nearly 1,000 booths in eight blocks presented their art pieces. In addition, two streets were closed to traffic for strolling. A number of Chinese participated in the festival: Kevin Liang from New York on oil paintings, Welti Hsui Chin Lin from Michigan on mixed media, Justin Jia from Pennsylvania on wood curving, Ann Tsai from Illinois on bamboo plants, Anton Wang from Florida on water color paintings, and Li Wang from Canada on oil paintings. In addition to the art fair, there were music, festival food, and the River North Gallery Walk in River North to visit some of the best galleries in the country.
