Chinese language on Chicago ballot

First time Chinese language is used on Chicago ballot. A week ago, the Board of Election Commissioners sent postcards in English, Spanish, and Chinese to registered voters, urging them to vote on February 25 local election. Chicago election officials on February 20 outlined a plan to print all election materials in English, Spanish and Chinese. The Coalition for a Better Chinatown, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and the Asian American Institute will monitor polling places on February 25.
