Hong Xu is the new head of Pittsburgh East Asian Library


Dr. Hong Xu has assumed her new position as the Head of the East Asian Library at the University of Pittsburgh Library System, starting June 16, 2003. Dr. Xu received M.Ed. in Educational Psychology and Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since 1997, she has been an Assistant Professor of Library Science at Pittsburgh University School of Information Sciences. She has published works in library and information science and is on the Editorial Advisory Board of The Electronic Library. She has also organized and moderated a number of conference/conference sessions and chaired International Information Issues (SIG III) of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIST). Dr. Xu will continue to develop a Summer Institute for East Asian Librarians for the summer of 2004 sponsored by Luce Foundation grant (http:/www.library.pitt.edu/luce/) .
