Ping Xu, a Chinese immigrant studying fine art at The College of New Rochelle is about to have a solo exhibit called "Painting American" that features her oil paintings of landscapes and seascapes. The exhibit, the graduate student's first solo event in the United States, will spotlight the impact her American travels have had on her art career since she immigrated four years ago.
Since her arrival in the United States, Xu has exhibited in galleries and art exhibitions throughout the metropolitan New York area. She has received several awards, including Best-in-Show awards, from the New Rochelle and Scarsdale art associations. She was formerly a highly regarded artist in her hometown, Shanghai, China.
