The New York Literary Roundtable at China Institute has organized a "NYC Lit Fest 2003 Home" event from October 23 to November 16. This first-ever literary festival in New York City offers 74 events at 48 venues in a variety of genres and in all five boroughs. As part of the festival, the Learned (Renwen) Society at China Institute presented a major lecture on the theme of Home November 8. The lecture was given by Mr. Ben Wang, senior lecturer and co-chair of the Learned (Renwen) Society at China Institute. Steeped in classical Chinese literature, Mr. Ben Wang has given lectures at many universities, museums and cultural institutions in the U.S.. He recently received a distinguished citation from the City Council of New York for his outstanding contributions to the community with his literary talent.
