A youth conference and mock grand jury on Emperor Hirohito

A Youth Conference and Mock Grand Jury Emperor Hirohito's crimes against humanity will be held on October 24 at the City College of San Francisco. The conference and mock trial are intended to explore war crimes committed by Japanese soldiers during World War II and why it is important to pursue an official apology and reparation by Japan towards its victims.

The highlight of the conference will be a mock grand jury proceeding staged by high school and college students. The audience will hear testimony from witnesses such as Japanese soldiers, survivors, "comfort women," as well as the "Emperor" himself. The prosecutor will try to prove there is sufficient evidence to indict the Emperor on war crimes committed by the Japanese soldiers during World War II. The event is jointly sponsored by Rape of Naking Redress Coalition
City College of San Francisco. (Ignatius Y. Ding).
