Panel discussion on raising bamboo ceiling


Young Professional Club of Connecticut (YPCT) and Organization of Chinese Americans (CT Chapter) Stamford, CT jointly sponsor a panel discussion on raising the bamboo ceiling on April 30, 2005, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Harry Bennett, Turn-of-River branch of the Ferguson Library at 115 Vine Road in Stamford.

There is the Glass Ceiling for women, and there is the Bamboo Ceiling for Asians in corporate America. Six successful Chinese American senior executives will discuss how they have managed to push that Bamboo Ceiling up in the corporate world.

Panelists include Dr. Jason Liu, Chairman of General Network Services, Inc. in Stamford, and a resident of Greenwich; Mr. Randy Tam of Darien, who is Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Paloma Partners, a multi-strategy hedge fund based in Greenwich; Mr. Harry Wong, resident of Darien and Managing Director of BIO-IB, a boutique investment bank focused on the life sciences industry; Ms. Monica Woo of New Canaan, who is Sr. VP and Chief Marketing Officer of 1-800-Flowers; Dr. Horatio Yeung, resident of Farmington and Managing Director of Quest Diagnostics; and Mr. Phil Yieh, Director of Sales and Delivery for PepsiCo International. Pauline Ning Brody of New Canaan will be moderating the discussion. Ms. Brody, a former executive at Colgate-Palmolive Co. is a cross-cultural consultant for China.
