Woman Warrior Festival 2005 starts April 27


The Woman Warrior Festival 2005 will be held April 27 - May 6. The woman Warrior Festival is a bi-annual event celebrating the accomplishments of women of Asian and Pacific Islander descent through the thematic presentation of lectures, panel discussions and workshops, as well as artistic programs in the visual, performing, literary, and media arts. It is sponsored by the Center for Asian Arts and Media, Columbia College, Chicago.

The festival schedule consists of Films and Conversation with Christine Choy; Number 1: The Helen Fong Dare Story; Free Trade: Designing Dignity; Kitchen Goddesses: Women in the Culinary Arts; Listen: The Good [Silent] Asian girl Talks Back to U.S. Patriarch; Drag King: Performing Asian Masculinity; Beauty and the eat: Women Drummers; and Calling Aphrodite.
