Merchants protested against New York City Stoop Line Stands Bill


John C. Liu, New York Council Member, introduced the Stoop Line Stands Bill which was passed for Mayor's signature. About 200 people protested in front of Mr. Liu's office in Flushing, Queens August 30. They said if the bill becomes law, it will affect their business on the streets.

The bill is intended to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to licensing of stoop line stands contingent upon certification that such stand does not obstruct pedestrian traffic. It reads:
