DATA urges to recall Taiwan's President

The Democracy and Truth Alliance (DATA) of Great Washington D.C. in a half-page advertisement in The New York Times and The Washington Post on February 3, 2005 urges recall of Taiwan's President Chen Shui-bian. The Truth Investigation Committee (TIC) created by an act passed by Taiwan's Legislative Yuan and signed by Mr. Chen released its findings and recommendations recently. Highlights include (1) the graze wound on Mr. Chen's abdomen was NOT caused by the confiscated bullet which was alleged fired at the 3/19 shooting scene. Forensic and ballistics experts from the USA and UK believe the wound was made by surgical cauterizer; (2) the whole episode of the shooting was staged to manipulate the Presidential election. Dr. Henry Lee, the famous U.S. forensic expert, later pointed out that the shooting was NOT a political assassination; and (3) the Parliament should recall President Chen for his active role in obstructing the investigation of the scandal.

Mr. Chen was alleged shot on March 19, 2004, the eve of Taiwan's presidential election. Mr. Chen won by a record low margin of 0.22%.
