Fr. Didacus Wu Ma - Fr. Didacus Wu Ma, died at Seton Medical Center February 22, 2005. Fr. Ma was born in Kiangsu, China on August 20, 1925 to Joseph and Maria Ma. Educated in China, he fled China after the Communist Revolution, and studied for the priesthood at St. Joseph's Seminary in Manila, P.I. He was ordained in 1952. Fr. Ma was the principal of St. Joseph's School in Naga City P.I. He came to the United States in 1966 and served the Archdiocese of San Francisco for 39 years. He was a priest at All Souls Church in S.S.F., St. Patrick's in S.F., St. Sebastian's in Kentfield, Star of the Sea in S.F., St. Rafael's in San Rafael, St. Bartholomew's in San Mateo, St. Augustine's in Daly City, St. Catherine's in Burlingame and in retirement Fr. Didacus served the Chinese Catholic Community at Holy Name in S.F. St. Matthew's in San Mateo and St. Monica's Church in San Francisco. He lived in retirement at St. Monica's for the last eight years.
Fr. Ma is survived by his only living relative, his niece Mary Ma of Shanghai, China and her husband Dr. Joseph Li.
