Chinese opera performance in New York City February 25 and 26


Qi Shu Fang Peking Opera Troupe will perform at the Skirball Center, New York University, 566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square South, 8:00 p.m., on Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26. The Qi Shu Fang Peking Opera Company presents a spectacular display of music, song, mime, glorious costumes, amazing martial arts and acrobatics, offering an unforgettable glimpse of ancient China. The troupe is led by the internationally renowned Qi Shu Fang, a formidable Chinese opera star and recipient of the prestigious National Heritage Fellowship.

On Friday, the troupe will present The Flaming Phoenix and The Monkey King Wreaks Havoc in Heaven. Saturday's program will feature Fighting in the Dark, The Monkey King Wreaks Havoc in Hell, and Women Generals of The Yang Family.
