War stories will be on Fox and History Channel

"War Stories with Oliver North" on Fox News at p.m. EST on February 13 will be a program on the war crimes trials at both Nuremberg and Tokyo. Focus will be on who was tried, who was not, and why, as well as why certain evidence was not presented -- such as the photos taken by Terence Kirk at the camp in Japan (Kokura) of American POWs about to die from malnutrition/disease. He was told to take photos home and never show them to anyone. Linda Goetz Holmes used them in her book and Senator Hatch featured some in Judiciary Committee hearing on POWs seeking justice, in June 2000.

Beginning Friday, Feb. 18, and for the next 26 weeks, History Channel will present documentary series on the "Last Days (months) of WWII" highlighting what was happening in Europe and the Pacific during February-March-April, through to Aug. 1945. Ms. Goetz will be featured on Feb. 25. Several historians, ex-POWs, combat footage, etc. will be shown/interviewed.

Ms Linda Goetz Holmes, historian, is the author of the WW II history book, Unjust Enrichment: How Japan's Companies Built Postwar Fortunes Using American Pows (2001). She is based in Staten Island, New York.
