Seven APA groups received grants


The California Cultural and Historical Endowment Board selected seven APA groups among 33 finalists to receive $8 millions from the first distribution of Proposition 40 bond funds. The finalists were chosen for supporting the "acquisition, development, preservation and interpretation of buildings, structures, sites, places and artifacts that preserve and demonstrate culturally significant aspects of California's history."

The endowment will distribute $122 million of $276 million in Proposition 40 funds over a series of cycles established by its board.

Angels Flight Railway Foundation - $996,350
Japanese American Museum of San Jose - $1,010,766
Go For Broke Educational Foundation - $1,000,000
Search to Involve Pilipino Americans - $1,518,344
TOTAL $8,032,760
