Ginny Gong elected OCA President


At its last National Board meeting in San Francisco, OCA, a national Asian American civil
Ginny Gong
rights/education organization, elected Ginny Gong to an unprecedented 3rd term as its National President. Gong campaigned on a platform of change and a commitment to elevate the 30+ year old organization to another level of operation. In her campaign speech, Gong stated, "We are uniquely positioned to be the premier grassroots Asian American organization. With our dual national and local structure, we can address national issues and monitor federal legislation while serving as a facilitating force in responding to local concerns...OCA is at a crossroads in its emergence. It is critical that we move forward strategically and identify ways in which OCA
will remain a significant force in shaping the face of America."
Gong served as OCA's National President for two terms in 1993 and 1994 after rising up the ranks from Chapter President to National Treasurer to National VP for Chapter Development.
