Four Chinese smuggled in a private plane

Four Chinese nationals, two men and two women, were arrested on board a private plane, a Cessna 172, as it landed at Stinson Field, a small airport near San Antonio on January 25. They were smuggled into the United States from Mexico. The pilot, a Mexican national, was also arrested. The four have valid Chinese passports and are not terrorist suspects. They paid between $40,000 and $100,000 apiece to be smuggled into the U.S. (Source: Jim Forsyth, San Antonio News, Jan. 26, 2005)
