The Books-for-China Project, founded by John T. Ma, aims at strengthening library collections of universities and research institutes in China. According to Ma, an important source of quality books, which has not yet been actively exploited, is private collections of Chinese scholars and American friends of China in the United States. The project is to collect books and send them to China for distribution among universities and research institutes. It accepts all books at college or above levels and professional journals of high quality, regardless of their dates of publication.
