University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) offers the East Asian library visiting fellows program for 2004-2005. The purpose of the program is to provide travel assistance to scholars from outside the Champaign-Urbana area who wish to use the University's Asian Library collection for research. A limited number of grants are available at up to $350 each to be awarded on merit basis to faculty and students engaged in research in East Asian studies. Applicants at institutions where there are no or few library resources in the East Asian languages will be given priority consideration. The awards must be used before August 1, 2005.

The East Asian collection at the UIUC Asian Library consists of over 240,000 volumes in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
