San Luis Obispo Chinatown to be revitalized

The founders of Copeland's sporting goods chain have resubmitted plans to revitalize Chinatown in San Luis Obispo, California. Its plan includes 65 condominiums above retail store fronts, offices, a restaurant, public walkways and a plaza.

The Copeland family has become major developers of downtown San Luis Obispo. They first proposed a smaller version of their Chinatown development in 1999, but have now added a parking garage and many more residential units. (Source: AsianWeek, May 20, 2005).
