International Information Associates (IIa) is seeking a Chinese language librarian/information specialist for a small technical library in Dayton, Ohio. Responsibilities for this position: (1) Conduct Chinese language database and Internet searches for researchers; (2) Order/procure Chinese language materials, including, but not limited to, books and serials; (3) Scan current Chinese journals for articles of particular interest;(4) Seek our new Chinese language scientific, technical, political, and military publications or information sources., either in print or online; (5) Establish and maintain contacts with publishers within mainland China and Taiwan; (5) Work directly in meeting the needs of researchers with an interest in China or Chinese information; and (6) Other duties as necessary
Requirements for this position: (1) Able to work in a small, non-traditional special library environmental with limited contact with library clients; (2) Flexibility and innovativeness in approach to accomplishing tasks; (3) Diplomatic and professional in relations with coworkers and others; (4) Must be able to work in the United States; and (5) Fluency in english and Chinese required.
