The Mid-America Chinese American Professionals Association and the Taipei Economic and cultural Commercial Division sponsored a conference on medical diagonostic medical instruments at the Coub House Inn & Suites, Westmont, Illinois. Main speakers included Dr. Yu Juan Lin, Director, Center of biomedical Instrumentation, ITRI, Taiwan on their current research interests and current accomplishments; Dr. Shwu Bin Lin, Professor, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Medical; and Dr. Pauline Lau, Project Leader, Institute of Applied Mechanics, National Science Council on home medical devices. Focus group discussion followed. The group discussion focused on identifying (1) potential collaboration projects, and (2) potential business opportunities.
