Chinese smuggling ring indicted in Puerto Rico

Fifteen members of a human trafficking ring that smuggled Chinese immigrants into the United States through the US territory of Puerto Rico were indicted in San Juan Tuesday, and could face as much as 10 years in jail, the US Justice Department said. Two of the suspects were still at large, the Justice Department said in a statement.

If convicted of the charges, the defendants face a maximum of 10 years in prison and fines of up to 250,000 dollars, the Justice Department said. (Source: AFP, Nov 27, 2007).
