Pan Guang spoke on Jews in Shanghai at Asia Society

Dr. Pan Guang spoke on Jews in Shanghai February 8 at Asia Society in New York. He presented the story of the Jewish people in China, from the Kaifeng Jews to the formation and development of Jewish communities in Hong Kong and shanghai with the expansion and riosing influence of Sephardic Jewish business groups, to the arrival of holocaust refugees in shanghai to communities to today's Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. It is estimated that there are 6,000 Jews in Hong Kong, 3,000 Jews in shanghai, and 300 Jews in Beijing.

Dr. Pan is a dean of the Center of Jewish Studies, Shanghai (CJSS).
