Adopted Chinese children and families gather in Branson

The New Shanghai Theatre in Branson held its first reunion for American families from all over the United States who have adopted Chinese-born children. Lizhi Zhao, the theater's owner, said that he was inspired to hold the event to help teach the adopted children about their heritage. Event organizer Xiaobing Luo said she recruited families by contacting various adoption agencies and visitors had come in from all over Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and even as far away as Washington.

The reunion was held at the Branson RecPlex and consisted of families playing traditional Chinese games, eating authentic Chinese food, viewing a program and videos by the adoption agencies and viewing the Amazing Acrobats of China show at The New Shanghai Theatre..
