Purdue dedicates Confucius Institute

Purdue dedicated May 14 its new Confucius Institute, a Chinese culture and learning center on campus. The Confucius Institute is one of 140 in the world and 21 in the United States and is meant to educate people on Chinese language, culture and business practices. It will feature language classes starting in the fall through Purdue Continuing Education.
The dedication included a delegation of Chinese officials from the Chinese Consulate in Chicago and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. (Source: Brian Wallheimer, BoilerStation.com, May 14, 2007).
