The Sixth Conference of the International Society for the Study of Chinese Overseas will be held at Peking University, Beijing, September 20-23, 2007.
The conference theme is "Recent Trends in the Relations between Chinese Aboard and Their Ancestral Homeland." The primary objective of the Sixth Conference is to examine the interaction between the powerful process commonly known as globalization and the old-and-new phenomenon of out-migration from China, the linkage between the Chinese overseas communities and their homeland, and the implications of the accelerating process of outward migration from China in the long history of Chinese diaspora.
