Clifford M. Kendall, chair of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents, announced August 17 the appointment of Wallace D. Loh as president of the University of Maryland, College Park (UM). Loh is currently executive vice president and provost of The University of Iowa. His appointment as president of the University of Maryland, USM's flagship institution, is effective November 1, 2010.
