The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will host a campus tour and daylong activities for Chinese American adults ages 65 and older on Wednesday, March 24. The Stockton Center on Successful Aging is the sponsor.
Professor of social work Mei Kit Tang came up with the idea for a campus tour designed
exclusively for Chinese American adults. Over the past few months, she and students from her
Social Work Theory and Methods II class have been organizing the day's activities.
Bilingual Chinese American volunteers from the community will pick up the older adults at their
homes and bring them to Stockton. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
The activities planned will give the adults the opportunity to participate in everyday college
activities alongside the students.
The Stockton Center on Successful Aging promotes education, research and services related to aging. Its core mission is to encourage older residents to age successfully through vital involvement and engagement in their community.
